Red Wing, a work boot manufacturer, has made a pair of boots that match those worn by Super Mario, the star of Nintendo video games. The boots were designed in partnership with the creative team of the new film "The Super Mario Bros" Movie.
The boots are practical as well as the same design worn by Mario. The Mario boots could be worn by a plumber in the workplace, as they have slip-resistant treads, steel toes and are made from durable quality leather. The boots are also flame resistant.
Unfortunately, fans of Mario cannot buy Mario work boots as there is only one pair made as a way of promoting the Mario film. They were exhibited at Nintendo’s New York store on March 10th, 2023, as a part of the annual celebration of Mario Day. A video posted on Instagram shows craftspeople meticulously making the Mario boots by hand.
Though you cannot buy a pair of Mario boots, there are plenty of quality work boots available that protect workers’ feet from injury in hazardous environments like construction sites. According to the Health and Safety Executive, 2,827 non-fatal foot injuries were reported in the year 2020/2021. Common foot injuries are hairline and stress fractures, heel spurs and Achilles tendinitis. Good-fitting padded safety boots help prevent these injuries from occurring.
